Hello loves!
I'm back at it with another video! This one is of my current AM skincare routine. Anyone that knows me knows I'm SO serious about my skin. Skincare is just one facet of my self-care practices. It provides structure into my day, helps me enforce good daily habits, and keeps this face snatched hunnnyyyyy. I linked all of the products I use below.
Enjoy!
Step-by-Step Routine:
1. First, I use a satin head band to keep my baby hairs out of my face through my routine. I love this one from Fourth Ray Beauty. Here
2. I clean my face with Urban Skin Rx's 3-in-1 Even Tone Cleansing Bar. I've been using Urban Skin Rx for a couple moths now and I LOVE this brand! Anyone can use these products, but the beauty brand's focus is on what is beneficial for olive and melanin-rich skin tones. I am so here for it! This cleansing bar can be used as a daily cleanser, exfoliator, and mask. I was able to get a couple of their products from my local Target, but the entire line is available on their site. Here & Here
3. Next I use a Thayer's Natural Remedies Witch Hazel Toner with Coconut Water and Aloe Vera. Witch hazel has many benefits for the skin, some of which include reducing inflammation, calming sensitive skin, and keeping skin clear and free of acne! I like the coconut scent in this one and the fact that it's alcohol free, which means no stinging or burning! I bought this in Target as well but it is available on their site. Here & Here
4. Urban Skin Rx pops up in my skincare routine once again with their Super C Brightening Serum. Vitamin C has been pretty trendy in the skincare space for awhile now, mostly for its brightening and anti-aging properties. This formula is a bit sticky so you want to work with it quickly, and store it in a cool, dark space. Light can render many Vitamin C serums ineffective. Here
5. Next up is eye cream. I have been using Sephora's Brightening Eye Cream with Hyaluronic Acid. Hyaluronic acid is best known for its deeply moisturizing properties. This eye cream has a light scent and a nice, smooth texture. In all honesty, it's nothing to write home about, but I only spent $16 on it so I'm not heartbroken over it either. Just a basic, moisturizing eye cream; it's a good option for people who want to start a skincare regimen but don't want to spend major coin. Here
6. Oils or heavier creams should always be your last step in your skincare routine! It seals all your hard work in and creates a moisturizing barrier between the environment and your skin. I've been loving the face oils from Fourth Ray Beauty. The brand is cruelty-free and vegan, the products are high quality, and the prices are amazing! I highly recommend this brand to anyone beginning their skincare journey. One of my favorite products from this brand are their face oils. I have naturally normal to dry skin, and face oils have stepped my skincare game wayyyyy up! I'm using one of their face oil blends here, Superfruit. It has avocado and coconut oils, as well as red raspberry, chia seed and dragonfruit. Super foods for your face! I've also used their Skin Hero and Glow Up oil blends. I love them all! Here
7. Finally, I moisturize my lips. I use the Vanilla Lip Sleeping Mask by Laniege day and night. The formula is thick, smooth, and the vanilla scent smells so yummy. It leaves my lips feeling moisturized and lovely, and the amount of product you get lasts a long time. Here
So that's it, y'all! I'm always trying new products and trying to step up my skincare game. You only get one face, and I'm tryna be on that JLo/Halle Berry/Angela Bassett energy when I'm grown and sexy.
